The first field trial I won was with Griff at Dove Valley Working Gundog Club's Novice Stake in 2002. Griff and I went on to qualify for the IGL Retriever Championship in 2004 after winning Yorkshire Gundogs two day Open Stake. Dove Valley Working Gundog Club was formed in 1994 when The Late George Handley from Ashbourne said he thought it was about time we had a Gundog Club based in the Staffordshire and Derbyshire area.
